A few fish still being taken in 8-1 and 8-2, with Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife checks showing 18 anglers with 3 fish on Saturday at the Port of Everett ramp; and 38 with 5 fish Saturday at the Camano State Park ramp.
Out on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, fishing interest switched to bottomfish. Fishermen from Sekiu kicked west to Area 4, past the mouth of the Sekiu River, for some good results. Creel checks showed 19 fishermen on Saturday with 13 rockfish, 14 lings, 15 greenling, and 4 cabezon.
Anthon Steen at Holiday Sports in Burlington reports decent fishing in the San Juans and at Salmon Bank. He said knowledgeable anglers will be looking for the occasional Skagit springer toward the end of the month in places like Fidalgo Head, Biz Point, and Deception Pass.
