The Portland Trail Blazers drafted Washington’s Jon Brockman in the second round of Thursday’s NBA draft, and then traded the draft rights to the Huskies’ forward to the Sacramento Kings.
Brockman, who played at Snohomish High School, was the 38th overall pick in the draft.
The 6-foot-7, 255-pound Brockman averaged 14.9 points and 11.5 rebounds for the Huskies last season.
The Blazers traded Brockmana and guard Sergio Rodriguez. to the Kings for the draft rights to Jeff Pendergraph, a forward from Arizona State. Pendergraph, the Kings’ second-round pick, was the 31st overall pick in the draft.
Rodriguez, a 6-foot-3 guard from Spain, has played three seasons in the NBA, all with the Blazers. Last season he averaged 4.5 points and 3.6 assists in 15.3 minutes per game.
The 6-foot-9 Pendergraph was averaged 14.5 points and 8.2 rebounds for the Sun Devils last season.
