TACOMA — Elliott Morton scored on a header off a free kick by Tyler Mernaugh in the 88th minute to give Bellarmine Prep a 2-1 double-overtime win over Snohomish in a first-round 4A boys soccer state playoff game Thursday at Mt. Tahoma High School.
Snohomish’s Thomas Sheets scored on a header off a cross by Aaron Burns to get the Panthers even in the second half after Bellarmine Prep had taken a 1-0 halftime lead.
It was the first time in 11 state tournament appearances Snohomish had lost in the first round.
