BOYS SWIMMING ROUNDUP

MARYSVILLE — A very competitive boys swim meet between two schools with high hopes this year ended in a rare tie on Tuesday night.

Marysville-Pilchuck and Shorewood swam to a 93-93 tie when all was said and done.

“That doesn’t happen very often, I think I have coached 300 meets and it has maybe happened three times,” M-P coach Scott Knowles said.

“They went out to a lead and we reeled them back in, they went out to another lead and we reeled back in again, and we ended in a tie,” Knowles added.

Knowles said this was possibly the most state-qualifying times he had ever seen in a dual meet. In all there were nine state-qualifying times.

“There were really fast times for this time of year,” he said.

Bryan Michaels of Shorewood and Trevor LeValley of Marysville each won two events. Michaels was also a member of two relay winners for Shorewood.
