ATLANTA — The Atlanta Braves activated infielder Martin Prado from the disabled list Thursday and optioned infielder Brent Lillibridge to Class AAA Richmond.
Lillibridge, who played at Jackson High School and the University of Washington, is hitting .154 in 26 at-bats. He was recalled from Richmond on June 21 and started six games at shortstop.
Manager Bobby Cox listed Prado as the starter at second base against the Phillies, but he watched Prado take batting practice before announcing the move.
Prado missed 55 games since he was placed on the disabled list on May 5 with a sprained left thumb. He was hitting .282 in 18 games.
Prado was 5-for-19 (.263) in five games with Double-A Mississippi in his injury rehabilitation assignment.
The Braves also have had Chipper Jones, Mark Kotsay, Yunel Escobar and Omar Infante return from injuries this week.
