Opponent: Prince George Cougars

When: 7:05 p.m.

Where: Everett Events Center

Radio: KRKO (1380 AM)

Going into Friday night’s game at Portland, Prince George was 2-3 and in fourth place in the B.C. Division. The Cougars began the week with a 2-1 loss at home to Medicine Hat on Wednesday before making the long trip to Portland and turning right around to play Everett. In contrast, Everett hasn’t played since last Saturday’s 1-1 tie at Seattle.

Everett defenseman Devin Wilson, who played for Prince George the past four seasons, had this scouting report to file on the Cougars: “This year going in they’re definitely going to have some scoring power up front, good goaltending and a pretty solid defense. They’ve always been known to be a fairly hard-working team. The coach definitely stresses getting two points on the road any place they go in. They like to be tied or better after the fist 10 minutes of the period and they’re struggling on the power play right now.”

Gigantic defenseman Dustin Byfuglien (6-foot-3, 250 pounds) leads Prince George with four goals and is tied with center Eric Hunter (two goals, three assists) for the team lead in points with five. Right wing Jonathan Filewich and goaltender Todd Ford are considered top prospects, having been selected in the third round of the NHL draft.

Slap shots: Michael Wall will get the start in goal for the Silvertips. Wall earned the start after making 37 saves in Everett’s game against Seattle, coach Kevin Constantine said. … Of the three players listed on Everett’s official injury list, two will not play tonight. Wilson, who suffered a concussion in Everett’s season opener at Kamloops, will miss tonight’s game after attempting to play against Seattle. Left wing, Tyler Dietrich, who suffered a separated shoulder during practice last week, had an MRI taken this week and is out indefinitely. Left wing and leading goal scorer John Dahl (two goals), who was knocked out of the Seattle game with a concussion, will be a game-time decision.
