The National Association of Basketball Coaches announced its 2008 All-District teams today, and Washington junior Jon Brockman made the first team for District 14.
The 150 athletes from 15 districts are now eligible for NABC’s All-American team, which will be announced on April 5. The other players on the District 14 first team are Stanford’s Brook Lopez, Cal’s Ryan Anderson, and WSU seniors Kyle Weaver and Derrick Low. Pac-10 teams from Southern California and Arizona are in District 15.
Not a lot of other news from today’s press conference with Lorenzo Romar and a few players. There was a bit of talk about Washington’s six-game losing streak to WSU, which Romar insists he hasn’t been thinking about, but a few players indicated is something they are eager to end.
Romar also said today that freshman Justin Holiday, who has missed Washington’s last six games with a knee and ankle sprain, will make the trip to Pullman for Saturday’s game, but will probably be a game-time decision. Holiday hasn’t practiced yet, but is expected to start working his way back into activities this week.
