CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns acquired linebacker Bo Ruud off waivers from the New England Patriots on Thursday.
The team also released running back Allen Patrick.
A sixth-round draft pick from Nebraska last year, Ruud spent his 2008 rookie season on New England’s injured list with an ankle injury.
He made 33 starts for the Cornhuskers, with 216 tackles and 4½ sacks. Ruud also returned three interceptions for touchdowns, tying a school record.
