Here’s a quick update for those of us who’ve been wondering where Terry “Too Cool” Buell, a long-time part of the Evergreen Speedway racing scene, has been.
Terry sent out an email late last week saying that as of June 26 he was no longer announcing at the speedway. Many may recall Terry quit his full-time job at the speedway prior to the season beginning, but had agreed to return as a part-time announcer.
Here’s some of what he wrote:
“It has always been my hope of returning to the speedway in a full time position to help restore it to its status as the leader in racing facilities in the Pacific Northwest but at this point that is not possible. It has been a pleasure serving the fans, race teams and sponsors as the track announcer and I will miss all. Thank you for your support and kind words.”
Terry added that he’s searching for a full-time position in which he can use his management, marketing and communication skills (Ed: Aren’t we all about now?). He also wrote he’s enjoying the summer with his family, including having the Fourth of July off for the first time in 10 years.
