Tonight’s a pretty special game at Comcast Arena. Not only is it a chance to see the Red Deer Rebels, one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, it marks the return of Byron Froese to Comcast Arena. Froese was one of Everett’s core players the past two seasons before being traded to Red Deer during the offseason. Barring another trade or a meeting in the WHL finals, this will be Froese’s last time playing in Everett, so make use of the opportunity. It was good getting a chance to chat with Byron yesterday after the Rebels practiced at Lynnwood Ice Arena. He jokingly vowed to score a hat trick to give me a reason to interview him again after the game.
OF course, the other side of that trade brought Landon Ferraro to Everett. Ferraro had asked out of Red Deer after three seasons because of differences of opinion with coach/general manager Jesse Wallin. Therefore, expect Ferraro to be particularly motivated tonight.
So lots going on tonight. It should be a good one.
