EVERETT — Josh Kasevich scored the winning run on a passed ball in the top of the eighth inning as the Vancouver Canadians edged the Everett AquaSox 8-7 in a back-and-forth game on Wednesday night at Funko Field.
The AquaSox fell behind 4-0 after two innings before exploding for seven runs between the fifth and sixth.
After Tyler Locklear drew a bases-loaded walk, Ben Ramirez hit a bases-clearing double in the fifth to tie the game at 4-4.
The Canadians retook the lead in the sixth, but Everett responded with three runs on bases-loaded walks by Jonatan Clase and Hogan Windish and a sacrifice fly from Locklear to jump ahead 7-5.
Rainer Nunez tied the game at seven with a two-run home run in the seventh and Everett’s miscue in the eighth proved to be the decisive blow.
Clase finished 2-for-4 with a double and also stole his ninth base of the season for Everett (4-6), which saw its three-game win streak come to an end.
Alex De Jesus added a two-run home run for Vancouver (5-2).
