Cascade avenges season’s only loss against Snohomish

EVERETT – Turnabout was fair play for the Cascade girls tennis team on Monday.

The Bruins defeated Snohomish 5-2 in a Western Conference North Division matchup at Cascade High School, avenging their only loss of the season – a 5-2 defeat to the Panthers on March 23.

“It was a good battle between two good teams,” Cascade head coach Jennifer Kink said. “They beat us for our only loss, and it was the exact same score.”

The Bruins improved to 10-1 in division and 10-1 overall. Snohomish is 10-2, 10-2.

Cascade senior Chandi Sun sealed the victory in the No. 1 singles match by edging the Panthers’ Grace Lee in three sets. Sun won the first set 7-5, then dropped the second 2-6 before winning the third 6-1.
