Cascade comes from 19 behind to beat Ferndale

EVERETT – The Cascade Bruins battled back from a 19-point deficit to escape with a 36-34 non-conference wrestling meet victory over Ferndale Thursday at Cascade High School.

Behind 31-12 with just six bouts remaining, Cascade (1-0 overall) rallied, starting at weight class 103 to win five out of the last six bouts, three by pin.

Cascade’s Chad Johnson (135) won the meet’s decisive bout 5-4. With his team behind 34-33, his victory gave the Bruins three points and their eventual margin of victory.
