INDIANAPOLIS — The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro will be the pace car for this year’s Indianapolis 500.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway officials announced the selection Thursday during a ceremony at the speedway museum.
This year is the fifth time the Camaro has been selected to pace the race. Camaros also served as pace cars in 1967, 1969, 1982 and 1993. A Chevrolet has been chosen as pace car 20 times.
The pace car driver for the May 24 race will be announced later.
