Adam Moore, a member of the Warner Pacific men’s basketball team, was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the period covering Dec. 29 through Jan. 4.
It marked the second time he’s won the award this season.
Moore, a 6-foot-7 senior forward from Everett, averaged 22.7 points and 5.3 rebounds in helping lead the Knight to a 3-0 record. They scored victories over Whitman, Northwest College and Evergreen.
In 15 games this season, Morre is averaging 21.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. He’s shooting 56 percent from the floor (121-for-216) and 47 percent (30-for-64) from 3-point range.
The Knights (12-3) were ranked 10th in last week’s NAIA men’s basketball poll, the fourth straight year they have cracked the top 10.

Bergstrom completes stellar soccer career
Ryanne Bergstrom of Everett, a member of the Menlo College women’s soccer team, received honorable mention on the NAIA All-America team announced last month.
Bergstrom, a senior, was a four-year starter for the Oaks. This past season, she finished second in the California Pacific Conference in goals (14), third in assists (six) and was a first-team all-conference pick for the second straight year.
Bergstrom finished her college career with 28 goals and 10 assists.

Local wrestlers meet in rematch of 2005 state final
Jon Wilbourne and Justin Boyce, who wrestled each other for the 2005 Class 4A state high school title at 189 pounds, faced off again last week at the Dana Open at Dana College in Blair, Neb.
Wilbourne, who is from Lake Stevens and competes for Dana College, won the match by pin and went on to place fifth in the 285-pound class. Boyce, who is from Everett and competes for Hastings College, won their state final four years ago, 3-1.
