Kyle Sager was once again recognized as one of the top academic collegiate track and field athletes in the region.
The Snohomish High School graduate, who just finished his senior season on the Western Washington University men’s track and field and cross country teams, was named to the NCAA Division II Academic All-District 8 team. This is the second straight year Sager received the honor.
Sager, who recently placed second in the men’s 800 meters at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships, carries a 3.73 grade-point average in business administration. He is just the fourth Western Washington men’s track and field athlete ever to earn All-District academic honors multiple times.
Sager was one of several athletes from local high schools named to the GNAC All-Academic track and field team. The others were Central Washington senior Michael Forster (Arlington) and sophomores Trevor Allen (Lake Stevens) and Sidney Trinidad (Arlington); Saint Martin’s junior Kianna Garmanian (Archbishop Murphy); and Seattle Pacific junior Katherine Walter (Mountlake Terrace).
