For the Saxons (22-8), it was the third third-place finish in their fourth trip to the state tournament.

The Falcons (21-9), who made it to Friday’s semifinals in their first state tournament appearance, finished sixth.

Ferris shot 54 percent (21-for-39) from the field and was 20 of 25 from the free-throw line. Kemi Olajoyegbe scored 15 points, Kiley Cox 12 and Jackie Albi 10 for the Saxons. Kelly’s eight rebounds helped Ferris to a 34-19 rebounding advantage.

Kentlake was led by the 22 points of Kristin Pasley, 15 of which came on 3-pointers. Shuree Hyatt scored 18 and Courtney Thompson 13 for the Falcons.

Annalisa Sticklin, Shela Robertson and Kristina Francis each added seven points for the Borderites (22-4).

Sticklin sank a free throw with 12 seconds left to give Blaine its three-point final advantage. Woodland didn’t get a shot off before the final buzzer.

The Beavers (22-6) finished in eighth place.

Ashley Rodman led Woodland with 17 points, and Brittany Driver added 13 and 11 rebounds. Teammate Teresa Schei pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds as the Beavers outrebounded Blaine 44-36.

Tonasket (19-9) had the lead and the ball with 45 seconds to play, but the Tigers turned the ball over with 14 seconds left, giving Kiona-Benton the last possession.

After a timeout with 10 seconds left, the Bears’ Heather Boswell put up an off-balance shot and the two teams battled for the rebound on the floor as the buzzer sounded.

Tonasket led 41-35 with 2:22 remaining before Boswell hit a layup and a free throw. Amber Grier made a basket to cut the lead to the final score with 1:11 to play.
