Defensive intensity boosts Coupeville

COUPEVILLE – Coupeville turned up the defense against Granite Falls in the second half to take a 59-30 non-conference victory Tuesday at Coupeville.

The Wolves, who were led by Alan Black’s game-high 27 points, out-scored Granite Falls 35-13 in the second half.

“We put more emphasis on our man-to-man and stopped gambling and going for steals,” Coupeville coach Randy King said. “We were more conservative and under control.”
