RICHLAND — Snohomish’s Caroline Dreher and Kamiak’s Sally Park both won their first round matchups but neither was able to advance to the semfinals at the 4A girls tennis state tournament on Friday.
In the quarterfinal round, Dreher was defeated by Inglemoor’s Sabrina Demerath 6-2, 6-2, and Park fell to Skyview’s Sammi Hampton. In the consolation round, Dreher defeated Eisenhower’s Claire Bohoskey 6-2, 2-6, 6-4. Park was defeated by Ferris’s Courtney Proven in the consolation round. If Park had won she’d have played Dreher in the fourth-place contest. Instead Dreher takes on Proven.
