EVERETT — With top hitter Jonatan Clase promoted to Double-A Arkansas earlier in the day, the Everett AquaSox struggled to string hits together in a 3-2 loss to the Tri-City Dust Devils on Wednesday night at Funko Field.
Harry Ford went 2-for-4 hitting from the leadoff spot and Alberto Rodriguez had a double, but AquaSox hitters struck out 12 times in the loss, Everett’s third straight and fifth in its past six games.
Reid Morgan started on the mound for Everett (11-11) and struck out 11 over 5.2 strong innings. Morgan allowed three runs on five hits and walked just one.
Joe Stewart homered and tripled, and Arol Vera added a home run for Tri-City (10-12).
