The Everett Hawks lost 54-41 the Stockton Lightning before a crowd of 4,964 at Stockton Arena in an arenafootball2 game Saturday night.
The loss officially eliminated the Hawks (3-9) from playoff contention.
“Stupid penalties and dumb mistakes keep biting us,” Everett coach Cedric Walker said. “We just didn’t make plays. We had them stopped on fourth down, and we had an illegal defense. They turned around and made a great play.”
Hawks wide receiver Josh Richey caught seven passes for 107 yards to match an af2 record for eight straight games with at least 100 yards receiving. He also caught a touchdown.
