If Adrian Beltre doesn’t get to a pitcher in the first inning, he hardly gets to him at all.

Beltre, whose two-run homer in the first inning Wednesday led the Mariners to a 2-1 victory at Baltimore, is batting .328 in the first inning this season. After that, he’s a .251 hitter. The home run was his only hit in Wednesday’s game.

Ichiro rarity: Ichiro Suzuki’s ninth-inning single Wednesday ended a string of 15 at-bats without a hit. It’s the third time he’s gone 15 straight at-bats without a hit this season. In his first five years with the Mariners, Suzuki went 0-for-15 just four times.

Roostertails and blowovers: The first 20,000 to enter the gates at Safeco Field tonight will receive a miniature die-cast metal unlimited hydroplane.

The promotion coincides with the Seafair hydroplane races this weekend on Lake Washington and continues the Mariners’ tradition of collectible giveaways that have included miniature train cars.

Highway closure: Fans attending this weekend’s game, particularly those who use I-90 to get to Safeco Field, may need to alter their driving plans because of road closures during Seafair air show performances by the Blue Angels.

The main line of I-90 between I-5 in Seattle and Island Crest Way on Mercer Island, plus the entire length of the I-90 center roadway, will be closed from 12:45 to 2:40 p.m. today, Saturday and Sunday.

Four ramps to I-90 – East Mercer Way to West I-90, 76th Ave. SE to West I-90, West Mercer Way to West I-90 and East I-90 to West Mercer Way – will close about 30 minutes before each performance.

The I-90 bridge also will close to pedestrians and bicyclists about 30 minutes before each performance.
