Eastern takes over No. 1 ranking

CHENEY — The Eastern Washington University football team is the top-ranked team in the latest FCS poll.

After their 27-24 win at Montana State on Saturday, the Eagles moved up five places to seize the No. 1 spot in The Sports Network poll released Monday.

The Eagles won the national title in 2010, and then held the top ranking the first two weeks of 2011.

Eastern Washington is 4-0 in the Big Sky Conference and 5-1 overall entering a home game Saturday against Sacramento State.
