PASCO – The Edmonds Tritons opened play in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges men’s basketball tournament Friday morning with a 76-70 victory over Centralia.
The Tritons (20-7) play Mount Hood (15-10) at 2 p.m. today in a quarterfinal game. Mount Hood advanced Friday with a 100-87 victory over Columbia Basin.
The championship game is scheduled for 8 p.m. Monday at the Tri-Cities Coliseum.
Guard Josh Wood led the Tritons on Friday with 24 points. Wood made nine of his 15 shots from the floor, including four 3-pointers. Center Tyler MacMullen, the Tritons’ leading scorer coming into the tournament, added 16 points and 16 rebounds, and Travis Fridrich scored 14 points.
Virgil Matthews led Centralia (15-12) with 21 points.
