Edmonds-Woodway girls rout Arlington

ARLINGTON – Rebekah Wells scored 22 points and Katie Trew added 17 as Edmonds-Woodway defeated Arlington 72-36 Tuesday in a non-conference girls basketball game.

The Warriors (5-0) outscored Arlington (3-4) 34-16 in the first half thanks to 23 combined points from Wells (12) and Trew (11).

“They (E-W) played with a lot of intensity,” said Arlington coach Corey Gibb, whose team was coming off a come-from-behind victory over Everett the night before. “We just couldn’t match that intensity.”

Edmonds-Woodway sophomore Jessica Takara scored all 11 of her points in the second half, eight in a 21-3 fourth-quarter run.

“Edmonds shot the ball very well,” Gibbs said. ” They killed us in the fourth quarter. We just couldn’t get going.”

Randi Richardson led Arlington with 22 points.
