Edmonds-Woodway knocks off South Kitsap in football playoff opener

Junior running back Desmond Young rushed for a pair of touchdowns to help lead Edmonds-Woodway to a 29-19 victory over South Kitsap in a quad-district \\ playoff game Nov. 4 at Edmonds Stadium.

Young scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter and ran 41 yards for a score in the third quarter. Sophomore quarterback Davis Giles also had a 1-yard touchdown run and senior running back Mark Coutee closed out the scoring in the fourth quarter with 3-yard TD run.

The Warriors (6-4) will play a first-round state playoff game Nov. 12 at Mount Tahoma High School.
