Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised given that this is one of the worst UW football teams in history, but it’s still a bit shocking to see Husky Stadium this empty. It’s less than 10 minutes until kickoff, and the stadium is maybe 1/3 full, but even that estimate is probably a little high. Even the student section, which is usually packed well before kickoff, is still filling in.
So far the few fans that have shown up are at least being rewarded with dry weather. There’s a pretty good breeze coming in off of Lake Washington, but no rain as of yet, though I’d be surprised if that is the case the entire evening.
Captains today are Chris Stevens, Paul Homer, Michael Gottlieb and Daniel Te’o-Nesheim. The Huskies won the toss and deferred to the second half. ASU will start with the ball.
Be back soon with a game thread, though if this crowd is any indication, there apparently isn’t much interest in this one.
