LYNNWOOD — Everett and Edmonds Community College split a Friday doubleheader between the two squads that carries big ramifications in the hunt for Northwest Athletic Conference postseason berths.
Everett (35-7 overall, 18-4 NWAC North) beat the Tritons 12-2 in a shortened eight-inning game in the opener, but Edmonds rebounded to topple the Trojans 11-5 in the nightcap.
Everett’s win means that it must only win one of the two games against Edmonds (31-10, 16-6) on Sunday to clinch the NWAC North title and an automatic postseason bid.
Everett’s Mitch Albin went 3-for-4 with a double, five RBI and scored two runs in the opener, while the Tritons’ Alex Garcia and Chris Cook drove in three runs apiece in support of winning pitcher Wyatt Stanley in the second game.
