Professional scout Mike Remmerde, who specializes on prospects from out west, has begun posting his player evaluations for the 2009 NHL draft.
Remmerde lists four Everett players in his top 60 from the west. Center Byron Froese is ranked 17th, right wing Kellan Tochkin 37th, right wing Cameron Abney 51st and left wing Tyler Maxwell 59th. He’s gradually going about his individual evaluations from the top down, and his most recent additions include Froese. For what it’s worth, I think his evaluation of Froese is dead on.
To give a little perspective, typically about 40 WHLers get chosen each year. This list includes junior A players, too, but it’s mostly WHL players.
