MONROE — The Wesco North divisional championship took place Monday afternoon at the Echo Falls golf club in Monroe to determine the league champion and 34 individual district qualifiers. After all eight teams played 18 holes, Everett’s Stefanie Soelling emerged as the individual medalist with a Stableford score of 63.
Everett — behind Soelling’s 63 and Jody Varhanovich’s 54 — placed first with a combined Stableford of 245 beating Marysville-Pilchuck by one point. Oak Harbor placed fourth with a score of 241.
With the first place finish, Everett tied Marysville-Pilchuck for first place with 24 league points to become co-champions for the 2010 season. Oak Harbor wound up second with 23 and Monroe ran third with 21.
With the District tournament beginning on May 18th, the final Wesco North league standings and 34 district qualifiers will be announced today.
