Everett keeps Jackson from clinching

Herald staff

MILL CREEK – The Everett Seagulls played the spoiler Tuesday.

With Jackson a win away from clinching the Western Conference South Division championship, Everett defeated the Timberwolves 12-4 to delay a potential title celebration.

Jackson will have another chance to clinch the title today when it plays Kamiak in its final regular season game. The Timberwolves are assured of no less than a tie for first with Mountlake Terrace, a 10-5 winner Tuesday over Lynnwood. They lead the Hawks by one game going into today’s finales.

“Everett played well and hit the ball well,” Jackson coach Kirk Nicholson said.

Everett pitcher John Cronin struck out nine batters.

Brent Lillibridge hit a solo home run for Jackson.
