The Everett Silvertips continued to add to their 1998-born class of forwards Wednesday when the organization announced it had acquired center Bradly Goethals from the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for a 2018 conditional seventh round bantam draft pick.
“He’s a top-end midget forward,” Everett general manager Garry Davidson said. “He’s a good fit for us. He gives us depth at center, depth at (1998) and he has to potential to be very good at our level.”

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Goethals led the Manitoba Midget Hockey League in scoring with 74 points and goals with 41 while playing for the Eastman Selects last season where he was a teammate of current Tips defenseman Montana Onyebuchi. Goethals also shares the hometown of Ile-des-Chenes, Manitoba, with Everett goaltender Mario Petit.
Here’s a look at Goethals’ first goal with the Dauphin Kings last season:
Goethals originally committed to Bemidji State, but is expected to join the Tips this weekend.
“We certainly believe it is (a big pickup),” Davidson said. “We’re going to have to give him a little time to get his feet under him, but we’re excited about it.”
Everett’s other 1998-born forwards are Sean Richards, Brandson Hein, Spencer Gerth and Eetu Tuulola. Richards came over in the July trade with Regina for former Tips captain Dawson Leedahl and Tuulola was Everett’s first pick in the CHL import draft. Goaltender Carter Hart was also born in 1998.
