Thursday’s Everett Silvertips practice began with a bit of levity. It seems defenseman Lucas Skrumeda forgot his helmet and had to use an interesting alternative:

“We’re going to talk about it now and put some time and energy into deciding which helmet he should use. Or none,” head coach Kevin Constantine quipped after practice. “We’ll make that decision later today.”
The Tips welcomed back goalie Carter Hart and Eetu Tuulola to practice today in preparation for Friday’s game at Portland.
Both raved about the experiences they had in Calgary (Tuulola) and Philadelphia (Hart). Hart had virtually zero chance of making the team, but said he approached camp with the chance that he was going to make the Flyers roster.
“It was a little bit disappointing to be sent back, but I’m excited to get this season going with this group of guys,” he said. “It’s good to see that we started off well with a couple of wins last weekend.”
