Everett Silvertips visit Providence and a few Sportsnet picks

The Silvertips didn’t skate Monday, but they took the time to reach out to the Everett community by visiting Providence Regional Medical Center.

The visit to the hospital serves a precursor to Friday’s “Pink the Rink” Night at Xfinity Arena when the Tips will take on the Tri-City Americans. There are a number of ways fans can participate in “Pink the Rink” with proceeds benefiting PRMC.

Sportsnet released an interesting list today that polled all WHL coaches for preseason predictions.

Highlights:

– Noah Juulsen earned one vote as the league’s best defenseman while Calgary’s Jake Bean had 10 votes to win the category.

– Kamloops goaltender Connor Ingram earned 14 votes to earn “Top Goalie” honors. Everett’s Carter Hart, last year’s WHL and CHL Goaltender of the Year and the first goalie taken in the NHL draft, was second with four votes.

– Regina is favored to win the league title with 14 votes while Victoria garnered four votes.

– Everett was named the third-toughest venue for road teams with three votes.

Finally, this tweet from SportsCenter crossed my feed a few minutes ago and I think it’s a perfect ending to this post.
