Everett vs. Portland: lineup notes

EVERETT

Forward lines:

Leedahl-Bauml-Petryk

Winquist-Hayer-Sandhu

Stadnyk-Mappin-Lofthouse

Soumelidis-Low-Grayson

Defensive pairings:

Mueller-Adam

MacDonald-Oslanski

Betker-Cox

Starting goalie:

Cotton

Scratches: Walters, Harrison, Murray.

Notes: Everett plays tonight without defenseman Nick Walters, who is out for reasons unknown. His absence means Landon Oslanski returns to defense from right wing, at least for one night. Defenseman Ryan Murray (shoulder) remains on the roster, even though he’s been ruled out for the season. Winger Ryan Harrison is still out with his knee injury. Daniel Cotton continues to get the nod in goal, starting for the sixth time in seven games.

PORTLAND

Forward lines:

Leipsic-Petan-Rattie

De Champlain-Turgeon-Leier

Iverson/Bittner-De Leo-Bjorkstrand

Baker-Kopeck-Schoenborn

Defensive pairings:

Pouliot-Rutkowski

Wotherspoon-Jones

Vorobev-Hanson

Starting goalie:

Burke

Scratches: Mahon, Peters, Viveiros, Iverson/Bittner.

Notes: Lots of big goings on tonight for the Winterhawks. Former Everett superstar prospect Seth Jones makes his first visit to Comcast Arena since spurning the Tips during the offseason. Portland is also playing its first road game since the WHL handed out its unprecedented sanctions Wednesday for improper player benefits. Overage center Taylor Peters is scratched, also for unknown reasons. Goaltender Mac Carruth, a favorite of the Everett crowd, gets the night off in favor of Brendan Burke.
