Everett vs. Victoria: lineup notes

EVERETT

Forward lines:

Hayer-Winquist-Sandhu

Leedahl-Bauml-Petryk

Skapski-Mappin-Stadnyk

Fonteyne-Low-Soumelidis

Defensive pairings:

Cox-Mueller

Betker-Oslanski

MacDonald-Zipp

Starting goalie:

Lotz

Scratches: Nikkel, Juulsen, Grayson, Harrison, Aasman, Adam, Davis.

Notes: Tips defenseman Austin Adam’s unfortunate season continues as he sits out after being injured yet again Friday night in Victoria. Adam was able to return last night after being boarded, but he’s given tonight off to recover. He joins forwards Ryan Harrison (upper body), Logan Aasman (upper body) and Lucas Grayson (lower body) and defenseman Ayrton Nikkel (finger) on the sidelines. With Adam out, Cole MacDonald returns to defense, and 15-year-old call-up center Matt Fonteyne makes his WHL debut.

VICTORIA

Forward lines:

Crooks-Magee-Carroll

Crunk-Hodges-B.Walker

Deacon-Fisher-Nelson

J.Walker-Soy-Traber

Fushimi?

Defensive pairings:

Cote-Gagnon

Hicketts-Fransoo

Kanzig-Schacher

Starting goalie:

Herringer

Scratches: Stahl, Lofthouse, Gogolev, Dixon, Harrison, Polivka, Fushimi?

Notes: Victoria, with nothing left to play for, gives call-up 16-year-old goaltender Michael Herringer his first WHL start. Rugged winger Tim Traber returns after completing his six-game suspension for coming off the bench to initiate a fight against Kamloops. No. 1 goaltender Patrik Polivka (lower body) and leading scorer Alex Gogolev (lower body) are out injured, as are defenseman Tyler Stahl (upper body) and forwards Trent Lofthouse (upper body) and Luke Harrison (upper body). Winger Brandon Fushimi is listed with a question mark, but he’s the only one, suggesting he will take the warm-up but be the last scratch.
