Evergreen Speedway preseason meeting set for Feb. 10

Evergreen Speedway’s membership and information meeting for the 2009 season will be held from 6:30-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10 in the 4H Building at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe.

All prospective competitors are encouraged to attend this important and informative meeting. Among the things offered include:

— Rules and schedule information

— Driver information sheets

— NASCAR license sign-up (Drivers who had a NASCAR license in 2008 may renew online at www.NASCARmembers.com)

— Car number registration

The speedway will be taking applications for employment for all positions. These include (but are not limited to) NASCAR pit officials, trackside officials, flagging, technical inspectors and scoring. Also, there are needs at: sweep crew, fire &safety, ticketing, security and event staff.

There will be a presentation by the speedway administrators at 7:30 p.m. followed by a question and answer session. (Ed note: there is also a rumor that a local author will be on hand to sign/sell books.)

Evergreen is pleased to once again be aligned as NASCAR’s only Home Track in the Pacific Northwest and is eager to continue the traditions of the NASCAR banner.
