Well it seems all the recent rumors were true. Brett Favre is back! Here’s the story by Judd Zulgad, of the Minneapolis Star Tribune:
Brett Favre, it seems, will be a Minnesota Viking after all.
A Hattiesburg, Miss. television station reported that Favre boarded a plane Tuesday morning at the Hattiesburg Laurel Regional Airport. The plane was headed for St. Paul, Minn. Sources said Favre boarded by himself and commented, “We may know something by dinner.”
A source also told the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune that Favre is headed to Minnesota.
Favre had informed the Vikings late last month that he had decided to remain retired and would not play for the team in 2009. The longtime Green Bay Packers quarterback had re-retired last February after a year with the Jets but then spent the spring and summer considering a return to the NFL with the Vikings. It now appears that will happen.
This changes everything in terms of fantasy for the Vikings. Adrian Peterson’s value goes up as does Bernard Berrian and Percy Harvin. And even TE Visanthe Shiancoe, who will benefit from Favre’s love for the position, will increase as well.
