FRISCO, Texas — Roland Lamah scored two goals, Maximiliano Urruti added another and FC Dallas beat the 10-man Seattle Sounders 3-0 Sunday in Major League Soccer action.
Dallas (1-0-1) has lost just twice in its past 21 MLS home matches, going 11-2-8.
Lamah opened the scoring in the 20th minute. Mauro Diaz sent a well-placed through ball to Michael Barrios, who got past the defense to the corner of the 6-yard box and rolled it in front of the goal for an easy finish by Lamah.
Urruti made it 2-0 in the 58th minute by bending a shot around Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei on a breakaway shot from distance. Lamah closed out the scoring five minutes later, chipping the ball over Frei after a nice give-and-go with Anton Nedyalkov.
Seattle (0-2-0) was reduced to 10-men in the 37th minute after officials reviewed a video showing Clint Dempsey’s elbow making contact with Jacori Hayes. Dempsey will be suspended for the Sounders’ MLS match against the Montreal Impact on March 31.
Notes
The Sounders announced that four players have been called into national team duty for the upcoming FIFA international break. Cristian Roldan (United States), Roman Torres (Panama), Gustav Svensson (Sweden) and Jordy Delem (Martinique) were scheduled to depart following Sunday’s match.
