The Indiana Fever are back on top in the WNBA’s Eastern Conference.
The Fever, Connecticut Sun and Chicago Sky have been fighting it out for the top spot in the East, and for now Indiana has the upper hand after beating the Sun 75-70 on Saturday.
Tamika Catchings scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Fever (5-3) to the win.
Indiana’s bench outscored Connecticut’s 31-6.
Renee Montgomery scored 19 points to lead Connecticut (4-3).
The Sky had a chance to match Indiana for the best record in the conference when they faced the Phoenix Mercury, but the Mercury have been a hot team as of late, and they continued that on Saturday with a 86-78 win over Chicago.
Diana Taurasi scored 23 points and Penny Taylor added 19 for Phoenix (4-3), who won its fourth consecutive game.
Sylvia Fowles scored 28 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead Chicago (4-4), who lost for the third time in four games.
