As the district boys and girls basketball tournaments roll on, many local teams have already clinched spots in the state regionals. Congrats to all of them.
One of those state regional-bound squads is the Monroe boys team, which barely prevailed against Lake Stevens in an incredible winner-to-regional 4A district semifinal clash on Friday. It was by far the most exciting boys hoops game I’ve seen all winter.
Neither Monroe nor Lake Stevens are included among the top 10 in the Tacoma News Tribune’s final boys basketball rankings of the season, but Monroe is on the 4A watch list. Click here to see the TNT boys hoops rankings.
Local teams included: Jackson (4A No. 4), Monroe (4A watch list), Glacier Peak (3A No. 8), Archbishop Murphy (2A watch list), Cedarcrest (2A watch list).
