Bud for boys?
A video snippet from a Philadelphia Phillies broadcast appears to show a little boy in the stands taking a drink from a beer bottle, but the team thinks it was probably empty.
The fuzzy video making the rounds online shows the child putting the bottle to his lips at Sunday’s Phillies-Padres game at Citizens Bank Park. No one nearby appears to be paying attention to him when he does. It’s not clear whether the bottle has anything in it.
Phillies spokeswoman Bonnie Clark says the team hasn’t been able to identify the boy. She says it appears to be “a very brief event, probably involving an empty bottle.”
Police say they are not investigating.
Phillies fans have brought unfavorable publicity to the ballclub this year. In April, a drunken fan intentionally vomited on an 11-year-old girl. In May, a police officer used a Taser on a teenager who ran onto the field.
Ask LeBron first: Reports out of Cleveland say the Cavaliers have extended an offer to Michigan State coach Tom Izzo to become the Cavs’ next head coach. Izzo has turned down NBA offers in the past. This might be different. They’re telling him he can have complete control over everything in the organization that LeBron says he can.
What sport is this? When fans threw chairs and bottles onto the court disrupting the Greek basketball championship, referees awarded the final game to Panathinaikos on opponent Olympiakos’ home court. And then, to add the finishing touch to their imitation of English soccer fans, someone in the angry Greek mob threw a flare at the Panathinaikos players leaving the arena.

“Chrissy Pronger. Looks like Tarzan, skates like Jane.”

Headline on a poster in the newspaper’s Tuesday edition that depicts star Philadelphia Flyers’ defenseman Chris Pronger in a skirt. Pronger has been an antagonizing force in the Stanley Cup finals against the Chicago Blackhawks, but he had the worst game of his career Sunday night when the Flyers lost 7-4.
