VANCOUVER, B.C. — Charlie Welch hit a two-run home run and Ben Ramirez had a bases-clearing double in the sixth inning as the Everett AquaSox beat the Vancouver Canadians 7-5 on Saturday at Nat Bailey Stadium.
Randy Bednar was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and James Parker had a bases-loaded walk in the first inning for Everett (15-16). Ramirez finished with three hits, including three doubles.
Cade Doughty and Michael Torconi each had two-run doubles in the fifth and Josh Kasevich plated a run on a sacrifice bunt in the fourth for Vancouver (17-11).
AquaSox starter Jordan Jackson allowed four runs on three hits and three walks to go with four strikeouts over four innings. Tim Elliot (1-0) came on with one out in the fourth and picked up the win with a scoreless inning of relief. Michael Flynn pitched the ninth to earn this third save.
Canadians starter Dahian Santos surrendered two runs on two hits and two walks over four innings, striking out three. Matt Svanson (1-1) suffered the loss after giving up two runs over 1.1 innings of relief.
