Fjortoft’s second-half surge lifts Meadowdale to win

LYNNWOOD — In a good old-fashioned defensive battle Wednesday night, a big second-half from Hanna Fjortoft helped Meadowdale squeak out a 52-43 win.

After Meadowdale struggled to make shots in the first half, Fjortoft scored 13 of her game-high 16 points in the second half.

“We certainly needed her tonight,” said Meadowdale head coach Troy Parker. “She went out there and really raised her game in the second half.

Parker also praised point guard Gabi Beyer, who he said did an excellent job of controlling the tempo.

“She really kept us from falling out of contact in the first half,” Parker said.

Beyer scored 10 points for Meadowdale.
