CORVALLIS, Ore. — Oregon State has rehired Robin Ross to coach the Beavers’ tight ends. Ross spent the past three seasons as the head football coach at Western Washington University.
The 54-year-old Ross was left without a job when the Bellingham, Wash., university dropped its NCAA Division II program in January for budgetary reasons. The school began playing football in 1903.
Ross served as the Beavers’ linebackers coach under Oregon State head coach Mike Riley in 2005. He spent the previous four seasons as special teams coordinator and tight ends coach at the University of Oregon.
He coached Western Washington to a 6-5 record in 2008 and a 25-10 victory over Colorado Mines in the Dixie Rotary Bowl.
