The New York Liberty handed the San Antonio Silver Stars their second loss of the season on Friday night, 81-75.
Cappie Pondexter scored 19 points and Pienette Pierson added 14, 10 of which came late in the game to help New York (5-5) secure the victory.
Rookie Danielle Adams scored 19 points to lead the Silver Stars (7-2).
The Phoenix Mercury continued their outstanding play of late handing the Chicago Sky a 97-84 defeat on Friday.
Diana Taurasi scored 24 points to lead the Mercury, who improved to 5-4 after opening the season 0-3.
Epiphanny Prince scored 19 points and Gonzaga alum Courtney Vandersloot added 14 to lead the Sky (4-6).
In Friday’s only other game, the Connecticut Sun defeated the Seattle Storm 75-70.
