Greetings from sunny Kelowna. The drive up was smoother than the last time I made the trek (2006, I believe) as in the interim they removed the tollbooth on the Coquihalla Highway and widened the bridge heading into town. Also nice not encountering any snow on either of the two mountain passes.
As for tonight’s lineups, Everett plays without defenseman Radko Gudas. Gudas was listed as day-to-day because of an upper-body injury. Paul Sohor is inserted in Gudas’ spot. In goal, Kent Simpson gets the call for the second consecutive game. Forwards Tyler Giebel and Josh Winquist and defensemen Gabe Minville and Nicholas Walters are healthy scratches. In addition, 16-year-old defenseman prospect Evan Morden, who spent the season playing for the Swan Valley Stampeders of the MJHL, is scheduled to join the team for a couple weeks beginning Wednesday.
Kelowna fields the same lineup as in Games 1 and 2. Forwards Cody Chikie (shoulder) and Kyle St. Denis (concussion) remain out injured, while forward Sean Aschim and defenseman MacKenzie Johnston are healthy scratches. Adam Brown starts again in goal for the Rockets.
