Snohomish beat Kamiak by six points here at Jackson High School in the Class 4A District 1 girls basketball tournament championship.
Senior forward Katie Benson led the victorious Panthers with 28 points. Snohomish (21-2) won despite going just 13 of 25 on free throws, including 6 for 13 in the fourth quarter. The Panthers earned the district’s No. 1 seed for the upcoming 4A state tournament in Tacoma.
Senior guard Kelsey Patrick (15 points) was the top scorer for Kamiak (16-7), which will be the district No. 2 seed for state.
Now we’re getting ready for the boys 4A District 1 title game: Mountlake Terrace (17-5) vs. Mariner (18-4).
