MERCER ISLAND — Hannah Graves scored with 10 seconds remaining as Snohomish rallied to earn a berth in the quarterfinals of the Washington Lacrosse Girls State Championship Tournament with an opening-round win over Mercer Island.
Down 8-4 with 12:47 remaining in the game, Jacquelyn Shaff ingnited a five-goal Snohomish run with her score at the 12-minute mark that sent the combined Snohomish, Glacier Peak high school squad into the second round of the state tournament.
Graves led all scorers with four goals. Daryia Tagg made 10 saves to keep Snohomish (8-5-0) in contention.
