The Glacier Peak Grizzlies made their debut at the Class 3A state boys basketball tournament a successful one Wednesday morning, beating Franklin Pierce 59-45 in the Tacoma Dome.
Glacier Peak, a second-year high school making its first state-tournament appearance, built a 48-29 lead through three quarters and cruised to the win. Franklin Pierce (17-8) dropped into the consolation round.
Brandon Hill led Glacier Peak (20-5) with 16 points. Jack Bonner added 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds for the winners.
Jamar Murray scored 16 points to lead Franklin Pierce.
